Fernweh...

The travel bug is a real thing.  You feel it in your bones.  And before you know it, it's taken over your mind!  Around this time of year, it's hard not to get the nomad itch.  It's the desire to see, hear, taste, and smell something new.  And of course, buy a few unnecessary vacation necessities.  It's usually things you have plenty of and really do not NEED, but there's something remarkable about the feeling I get when I pack fresh Basic Tees and a brand new bronzer into my suitcase.

During a recent Pin Interest binge, we stumbled across the most perfect word to describe our early Summer travel funk; Fernweh.

We have been officially diagnosed.  Fernweh - proving that the travel bug is real.  SIGH, we feel validated knowing we are not alone.

To make matters worse, we spent a little down time today perusing the store's Assouline books.  We had a hard time making it through In the Spirit of St. Barth's and Paris Hotel Stories, but it was Condé Nast Traveler; Room With a View that really did us in.

The book is literally about the world's most dreamy hotel rooms.  It's cover to cover full of the most vivid photos, detailing the best rooms, within the best hotels, with the best views.  See a few below that made our favorites list.

Call it what you will.

I've had enough.  Meet me at the Admiral's Club; I'll be the girl with the floppy hat and glass of Chardonnay awaiting my flight.

2.  Playa Mumbo, Tulum

3.  Kapawi Ecolodge and Reserve, Kapawi Ecuador

Back to Bloggin..Soon

The Fall '12 collection really put us in a tailspin!  Hence, we have been completely neglecting this little blog we love so much.  Kinda feeling Mommy guilt..

Nevertheless, we think Fall '12 is absolute perfection.  A sneak peek from our favorite look book thus far.

Since we've been holed up in our office and deprived of all sunshine - a girl can only dream.  Current fantasies involve the below.  Two more weeks of somewhat organized chaos and we'll be back to our regular schedule.

New Hobby Alert!

After wrapping the Spring '12 photo shoot, I found myself with a few minutes of afternoon free time.  Odd - a weekday and nothing that needed to be done within the next 30 minutes? It definitely made me feel a little weird.  Guilty almost.

Inserting iPhone shot of the shoot here - simply because it's our favorite look book thus far and we were seriously excited about the perfect messy side bun!  Cannot wait to share the finished product!!

(Wearing Spring '12 White Lined Raglan and a new favorite - Goldsign Jenny Jeans)

Anyway, I took a little time at my desk to peruse my usual websites and finally downloaded the photos from my camera.  I realized I have become quite the curator of door photographs.
Yes, random doors from various countries.  I love the colors, textures, hardware, materials, truly authentic wear and tear, and perfect imperfections.

Below is a small portion of my collection.  Venice offered up some serious door eye candy!  Although, I don't want to elaborate too much on Venice now, as Venezia truly deserves it's own blog post.

And lastly, a special shout out and thank you to Josh Greenly, who always waits patiently while I chase down doors, and then sits there for long periods of time while the river of European pedestrians clear so I can get my shot. Enjoy!!

And this one because it's great for the obvious and endearing reasons...

A Spanish Favorite in Seville:

This one isn't quite just a door, but somehow seems fitting.  Also Seville:

And Paris, of course:
